    Change is Coming

    Written by

We are rebooting Nordiclarp.org as an online magazine. Instead of only linking to other websites we will produce original content as well as republishing interesting and important texts from the past or other sources. The wiki will remain in its current form, although we are looking into reducing the threshold to start contributing.

We are now looking for a few things.

    • Writers. We need your content, new or old, as long as it’s interesting and relevant.
    • Editors. People who can get others to write and/or edit others texts. This means reading them and giving feedback.
    • Reporters. We want reports from larps, conferences, conventions and other larp events. Text, video, photos, illustrations, podcasts. All welcome.
    • Translators. Help get texts in your local language a global readership!

We will be a group of chief editors, one from each Nordic country. Besides this and the staff mentioned above, we would love to have at least one official national correspondent in each country where there is larp.

This is of course all done non-profit, but you do get the chance to shape the website and get a photo byline.

We need content and staff from all the Nordic countries and the rest of the world where Nordic style larp is happening.

We hope to launch before Knutpunkt 2014 and are especially interested in people who can help do reports from A Week in Gothenburg and Knutpunkt!

    Knutpunkt 2014 Call for Volunteers

    Written by

Knutpunkt 2014 is need of volunteers. This is what they have to say about it:

Making Knutpunkt is an effort from all of our community. One way for you to contribute is by being part of the on site crew. To make Knutpunkt 2014 possible we need a bunch of great volunteers.

Almost anyone is welcome to be volunteer but we have some requirements. You need to be able to communicate in Swedish and English. You have to be available for volunteering no later than noon 3rd April either in Gothenburg or at Gullbrannagården. As a volunteer you will be expected to work about 4 hours per day.

Read more and sign up to volunteer on the Knutpunkt 2014 website:

    Simbelmyne

    Written by

Simbelmyne is a swedish larp set in Tolkiens Middle-Earth, around 500 years before the War of the Ring. The organisers describes it as such:

“Good and evil have not changed since yesteryear, nor are they one thing among Elves and another among Men. It is a man’s part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house.”
    — JRR Tolkien, The Two Towers

Simbelmyne is a larp about good and evil – not the goodness of heroic deeds or the evil of dark lords, but the goodness of a kind act or the evil of greed, selfishness or small mindedness. Fictionally Simbelmyne takes place among the Éothéod, the ancestors of the Rohirrim, as they gather to elect a new thegn, a chieftain of sorts, as the old one has passed away – and to tell tales, share news from all corners of the Mark and to eat, drink and honour the ancestors.

Where: Moriaberg, in Tumba near Stockholm
    When: 6-9 June, 2013
Cost: 600 SEK (approximately 72 EUR or $92 USD) including food and lodging
Language: Game primarily in Swedish, but Danes and Norwegians are very welcome!
