It’s Not You, It’s Me: Wrestling with Bleed-in of the Self

in

This video was recorded during the 2025 Nordic Larp Talks, in Oslo.

When you larp, you are you. It sounds obvious, but how often do we really think about what that really means for the characters we play, and for our larp experience? In this talk, based on the ideas of Anne Marchadier, Mo Holkar examines the phenomenon of bleed-in of the self.

Mo (he/him) is a larper based in the UK. He is a former organizer of The Game Kitchen and of The Smoke, and is a member of the editorial team of Nordiclarp.org. He is part of the Larps on Location design collective, and some of his chamber larps can be downloaded from holkar.net. At the moment he is mostly interested in larp as a tool for exploring different ways of being a person.
