Theatre background: Wingård was educated at Akademi for Figurteater, before moving to Finland, where he graduated from Turku Arts Academy's puppet theatre department in 2003. He has since then produced own theatre show, as well as freelancing in the Nordic countries. Wingård is usually acting, puppeteering, script writing, teaching or producing.
Larp backgroun: As of 2026 he lives in Turku, Finland. Wingård was influential in the "big leap" in Norwegian larp from 1997 to 2001. A close friend and larpcollegue of the larpdesigners Erlend Eidsem Hansen and Eirik Fatland, they pushed the idea of art and seriousness into the Oslo larpscene at the end of the 90ies. Lars was also educated at the Fredrikstad School of "Figurteater" excersicing physical theatre and martial arts. Lars Wingård workshopped Eidsem and Fatland a lot in dramatics during the late 90ies. The high point of his artistic role playing career came in 2026, when he was interviewed by the Finnish Donald Duck magazine (Aku Ankkalehti), who wrote about his Disney-themed larp project.
Wingård is also dedicated to experimental tabletop games.
