The programme originated in Danmark, where it was aired for the first time in 2005. It is produced by the TV production company EYEWORKS. The concept was developed by role-player [[Martin Rauff-Nielsen]] along with producers Mette Mailand and Mariella Harpelunde Jensen. <br /> <br /> The concept was sold to the Swedish TV station SVT, and to the Norwegian TV station NRK.<br /> <br /> ==Impact==<br /> According to Martin Rauff-Nielsen, the idea behind Barda was to popularise roleplaying games for children between age 6–12.
